I'm In An L.A. Mood

The fashion industry in Los Angeles, California is a blend of people who are confident, individualistic, and bold. Spend some time observing the people from the city, and you will discover that they often enjoy experimenting with their clothing. The hot spots where fashion influencers spend their time and gain their content include the Row DTLA, Melrose, Hollywood, among others. You will find yourself wanting to emulate the unique kind of fashion you will encounter in these locations. Therefore, this week's spotlight is on our Los Angeles, California fashion influencers, who have made a significant contribution to the evolution of fashion.

Social media influencers contribute to the evolution of trends. I myself follow many influencers that inspire me and keep me updated with the latest trends. It's predicted by influencers that mini pleated skirts will be the hottest trend in Spring/Summer 2023. On the other hand, I wanna add that since I've now observed New York and Los Angeles fashion, there's something interesting about seeing how people dress differently based on location. People's fashion of Los Angeles and New York, for example, have distinct ways of dressing. The sunny climate in LA makes people more likely to wear crop tops, mini dresses, and mini skirts. Clothing in New York reflects the cold coastal, so expect coats, knit sweaters, maxi skirts, and pants. 

Karla Jara - Los Angeles, California

Fashion influencer Karla Jara is known by her instagram handle @theerealkarlaj. Jara is a content creator in Los Angeles, California who actively shares her outfits through posts, stories, and videos on social media. Jara has gained a big following because of her unique kind of style that everyone is looking to emulate. In addition to her popularity on Instagram, Jara has gained traction on Youtube with her fiancé, Khayman Burton. Both the couples post content relating to their affordable shopping hauls, brand deals with clothing companies, and matching outfits. Jara experiments with various styles, including Y2K, street style, and ballet core. Among the items in her wardrobe are mini/maxi skirts, baby tees, trousers, jumpsuits, rompers, baggy pants, and race care jackets. 

Elsa Hosk - Los Angeles, California

Elsa Hosk, a Swedish model living in Los Angeles, has gained fame walking the Victoria Secret Fashion Show alongside other famous models like Adriana Lima, Martha Hunt, Gigi Hadid, and Jasmine Hooks. Known as @hoskelsa on Instagram, her's main focus as a fashion influencer is to share her outfits via stories and Reels to her large following. Furthermore, she showcases pieces from her clothing brand, Helsastudio, through her social media accounts. This mini pleated skirt in the image above is from her clothing line. As her wardrobe includes blazers, white button-up shirts, and jeans, Hosk emulates the Parisian style. 

Camella La Compte - Los Angeles, California

Camella La Compte, a micro influencer, is rapidly gaining a wider following on Instagram, @camellalacompte. The content creator shares her outfits and provides her followers ways to be trendy on a budget through her Reels. In her wardrobe, Compte incorporates mini pleated skirts, dresses, two-piece sets, crop tees and low-rise baggy jeans to emulate that insta baddie style.
